CSCview Software Requirements
CSCview has been tested using recent Linux and Mac OS systems, but please contact the CXC Helpdesk if you have problems downloading or using CSCview.
CSCview defaults to searching the 1.1 database. Please see the CSC 2 pages for information on how to search the "Current Database", which contains the latest CSC 2 results.
CSCview is a Java application and is available as a jar file, which can be run with one of the following commands:
unix% java -jar cscview.jar
or, if Java 9 is installed:
unix% java --add-modules java.se.ee -jar cscview.jar
Java can be installed by the standard package-management system (such as apt or yum), or downloaded directly.
CSCview is also available as a DMG package for Mac OS systems. It does not include a developer "signature", which means that Mac OS may initially refuse to run the application. The steps needed to work around this depend on the version of Mac OS in use.
