Installation Instructions

Attendees of the software workshop (Tue., Wed., and Friday sessions) should have installed SIXTE, HEASOFT, and a spectral analysis program (xspec, isis, spex, ...) and scripting environment of their choice on their laptops, including the calibration files for Athena and eROSITA. Especially if you have a mac, please do not wait until the last minute. See the webpage below for details.

If you have a mac, please follow the instructions (typically, systems where part of the software was installed from macports and part of the software was installed from other sources are notoriously unstable and might or might not work [this is not true only for SIXTE but also for HEASOFT...]).
