Hotel Reservations

A block of rooms has been reserved for attendees of Chandra's First Decade of Discovery and the Chandra Calibration Review at the Seaport Hotel, which is adjacent to the World Trade Center. The room rate is $249/night for a standard room (single or double occupancy) plus 13.7% hotel taxes and a Hotel Inclusive Charge of $3 per room per night. For more than two guests in a room, there will be a $25 charge per person per night.

This rate is available for the dates September 20 through September 26, 2009. Reservations may be made at the conference rate until Friday, 11 September 2009, subject to room availability.

To make a reservation, you may either:

  • call the hotel directly at 617-385-4212, ask for Reservations, and identify yourself as being with the CHA907 group.

  • book online: http://www.seaportboston.com/?promo=cha907

Important: use only the CHA907 “Promo/Group Code” when making reservations online; do not select anything from the “Special Code” menu, which will override the quoted rate. Confirm that the reservation page quotes the $249/night before finalizing your booking.

Parking

Parking is available at the hotel for both overnight guests and day attendees. Please refer to the Parking section of the Seaport Hotel website for rate information.

It is not necessary to have a car in Boston! If you are traveling from out of town, we recommend that you do not rent a car and instead use the extensive public transportation system (MBTA or “the T”) to get around.

Travel

The most affordable option to get from Logan Airport to the hotel is to take the MBTA Silver Line ("SL1") from the airport to the World Trade Center stop. A one-way fare costs $2.00 per adult.

Another option for travel between the hotel and Logan Airport, is to make a reservation with a shuttle service ahead of time. While taxi service is available from the airport, shuttle services are typically cheaper. Shuttle options are listed on the Shared Van transportation section of the Massachusetts Port Authority website.

Driving directions to the Seaport hotel are available from the “Maps & Location” section of the hotel website. The hotel also includes directions via public transportation.
