CIAO and SOXS Workshop

The CXC is soliciting interest in a free one day CIAO workshop on August 7, 2017 just prior to the start of the "From Chandra to Lynx" workshop. Depending on interest, an introduction to SOXS, the primary simulation tool for simulations of Lynx observations, could also be part of the presentations. The CIAO workshop will be tailored to the attendees, but usually consists of a few talks in the morning with ample time in the afternoon with CIAO and SOXS experts to assist individuals with their specific data analysis questions.

Possible CIAO topics for the talks include:
  • Introduction to X-ray astronomy
  • Advanced CIAO
  • Topics in Chandra Calibration
  • Intro or Advanced Sherpa
  • Intro or Advanced MARX
  • Intro or Advanced ds9

Users interested in attending the CIAO Workshop should contact Helpdesk stating their level of expertise and their main interests, including their interest in learning about SOXS. Interested users will be contacted with more details prior to the date of the workshop.
