It is suspected that this splice failed due to high temperatures at some point during MUPS-B2's 14 years of inactivity. As a lesson learned, it is recommended that all thrusters be fired annually, with exceptions as needed, in order to ascertain state of health. The intent of this procedure is to fire (nominally) ten pulses on MUPS-A3, and A4, and a total of 20 pulses on A2 using two firing periods of 10 pulses, with error settling time in-between as explained below. Additional pulses will be fired as needed. Three SCSs will be loaded and run at PROP/PCAD's discretion, one with commanding for each thruster individually. The timing will match that of the OBC in terms of pulse width (200 ms) and firing period (2.5625 sec). Sufficient time (> 2 minutes) will be left between all thruster firings to allow for rate and attitude error settling. Contingency measures will be in place as needed. Radiation: Solar activity is likely to be moderate with a slight chance for an X-class flare on days one, two, and three (29 Sep, 30 Sep, 01 Oct). MP: Oct0625 loads are in work. ENG: The MUPS-A hardware checkout on Friday was successful. GOT: No issues. Everything is up and running following the planned CDP power outage on Saturday.
