NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS --------------------- From the 9am status meeting: 1 Supports Completed in the last 24 hours (Total time: 2 hours) 1 SSR dumps CAP's - 1795, 318/0054z, Command a 4-CCD ACIS-I ECS measurement via RTS, template version 1.8 Command ACIS to execute an ECS measurement using an RTS. Radiation rates reported by the HRC Anti-Coincidence shield or its proxy are below the SCS-107 trigger values, or close enough (as defined by the Flight Director) and trending downward, to prevent another SCS-107 trigger run. Science runs will not commence for some time. Therefore, the time can be used for making an ECS measurement with ACIS. The CAP will change the TLM FMT to 2 if necessary, enable SCS 107 if necessary, change the OBSID, and uplink a command load that contains an RTS to enable RADMON and to execute an ACIS ECS measurement. ACIS will integrate for a user-selectable time and then the RTS will disable RADMON, and stop the ACIS ECS measurement and prepare ACIS for entry into the radiation belts. This CAP contains contingency steps 15-17 in case the RTS has started execution and it needs to be interrupted manually during a realtime COM. Radiation: A X4.0 class flare was detected last night around the AR 4274 region, which is no longer directly facing Earth. The CME produced by this event appears to be heading to the west and away from us. However, a glancing blow may be possible within 72 hours. The ACE P3 rates and the HRC GOES proxy are currently below the nominal limits required by return to science. Solar activity is likely to remain high on days one, two, and three (13 Nov, 14 Nov, 15 Nov), but the chance for another X-class flare dropped to 30%.
