AGASC improvements and new catalog generation. An update of the star catalog to AGASC1.5 was completed, including:
- Repair of star ID rollover number problems encountered upon merging of Tycho catalog.
- Incorporating Tycho2 catalog into AGASC. Tycho2 contains 2.5 times as many stars as Tycho1.
- Update of MAG_ACA (estimated Aspect Camera Magnitude) for the entire AGASC, using new coefficients derived for production of AGAC1.5.
- Update of RA and DEC for stars still retaining GSC1.1 position information in AGASC1.4, to account for recent recalibration of the Hubble Guide Star Catalog.
- Update of the spoilercodes for the entire AGASC1.5.
- Update to CLASS=1 any object classified as extended in the 2MASS catalog.
- Update of FITS headers and supporting documents.
- Creations and distribution of catalog CD-ROMs.
- Final V&V on catalog contents.
Testing of the catalog against software is currently underway. The star fidlight
evaluator is also being updated to accommodate new value in the star catalog.
