AHELP for Sherpa 4.1

xskerrdisk

Context: sl.sherpa

Synopsis

Accretion disk line emission with BH spin as free parameter. XSpec model.

Description

Model for an accretion disk broad emission line with the black hole spin allowed to be a free parameter. A detailed description can be found in Brenneman & Reynolds (2006ApJ...652.1028B).

This model is quite slow so is best used after models such as laor or diskline have been employed to get an estimate of the best-fit parameters.

xskerrdisk Parameters

Number Name Description
1 linee rest frame line energy (keV)
2 index1 emissivity index for the inner disk
3 index2 emissivity index for the outer disk
4 r_brg break radius separating the inner and outer portions of the disk (gravitational radii)
5 a dimensionless black hole spin
6 incl disk inclination angle to the line of sight (degrees)
7 rinms inner radius of the disk in units of the radius of marginal stability
8 routms outer radius of the disk in units of the radius of marginal stability
9 z redshift
10 norm K; flux in line (photons/cm^2/s)

This information is taken from the XSpec User's Guide. Version 12.5.0ab of the XSpec models is supplied with CIAO 4.1.2.
