5.7.3 Splice / Coadd

The purpose of this step is to splice and/or coadd together the input spectrograms into a single output spectrogram.

The control panel for this processor module is show below. The “Include” column is used solely for the purpose of providing a last minute opportunity to remove selected spectrograms from the coadd operation.

If present in the data, errors can be used as (inverse) weights in the coadd process. By unchecking the Use errors as weights box, unweighted coadditon will be performed instead.

By default, any gaps in the result spectrogram are filled with a linearly interpolated value. This feature can be disabled by unchecking the Fill gaps box.

Before performing the coadd operation, this module will check if indeed the input spectra are all resampled to a common wavelength scale. If not, an error condition will result.
