OP03 Procedures op03:

HRC Contingency Procedures

-Y Shutter Fail Safe

Description:

This procedure is used to fire the HRC -Y shutter failsafe. The only commanding required is the command sequence that fires the -Y shutter failsafe.

Note: If the -Y shutter has been the shutter selected for blocking the zeroth order image when using the transmission gratings, then the HRC_MODE ODE for zero blocking must be changed to use the +Y shutter.

Procedure Trigger:

This procedure is a measure of last resort. If, after using all possible combinations of power configuration, the -Y shutter sticks in a position that blocks either of the HRC detectors and the Flight Director approves its use, the Flight Operations Team will execute this procedure with support from the Science Operations Team.
