CALDB 3.2.4
(latest update: 07 November 2006)
CIAO 3.3 requires that you have at least version 3.1.0
of the CALDB. We recommend that you upgrade CALDB to the
newest version in order for your analysis to keep pace with
the current calibration standards.
Information on the changes in CALDB 3.2.4 is in the
How CALDB 3.2.4
Affects Your Analysis section of the CIAO 3.3.0.1
release notes.
Some tool changes and calibration released in CIAO 3.3 and
CALDB 3.2.0 affect analyses in progress, i.e. certain
processing steps should be run again for greater accuracy. The
How
CIAO 3.3 and CALDB 3.2.0 Affect Your Analysis section
of the release
notes describes those changes, as well as the
affected tasks.
There are known problems with the CIAO download pages in
Internet Explorer on the Mac OS X platform. We recommend that
you choose an alternate browser - such as Safari (distributed
with Mac OS X) or Mozilla
Firefox - to avoid download problems.
As of CIAO 3.3, the registration page bug in the Safari
browser has been fixed. When users of this browser
register and download the installation files, the cookies which
store user information are now set properly by the
registration page. This means that you should not be
prompted to register again if you wish to download files for
more than one platform or return to the download pages at a
later time.
Required files
To install CIAO 3.3 you need the following packages
- available from the platform-specific download pages, on the European
Mirror Site, or on CD via the Helpdesk -
for your machine:
The Installing CIAO 3.3
thread explains in detail how to install each of
these software components.
Optional files
There are two optional packages - the source code and
the OTS (Off The Shelf) collection of external programs/libraries
used by CIAO - that can be installed.
These are only needed if you wish to re-compile CIAO
yourself.
Users doing spectral analysis (e.g. line indentification) may
also be interested in installing the Atomic Database (ATOMDB). The
ATOMDB Download page has
information on this package.
