AHELP for CIAO 4.11 ChIPS v1

hide_point

Context: points

Synopsis

Hide the specified point.

Syntax

hide_point()
hide_point(id)

Description

The function arguments.

Argument Description
id A ChipsId structure identifying the item, or a string containing the name of the object.

If no argument is given then the current point is hidden, otherwise the argument determines what to hide. Note that this does not delete anything; use the display_point command to make the items visible again.

Examples

Example 1

chips> add_point(4.6, 2.5, "style=plus")
chips> hide_point()

Create a point, then hide the current point.

Example 2

chips> add_point(.4, .5, "id=sq style=square")
chips> add_point(.8, .2, "id=tri style=uptriangle size=12")
chips> id = ChipsId()
chips> id.point = "sq"
chips> hide_point(id)

Two points are created; the second point is current after it is created. The id.point command sets the point value of the ChipsId structure to the first point. That point is then hidden.

Example 3

chips> add_point(.4, .5, "id=sq style=square")
chips> add_point(.8, .2, "id=tri style=uptriangle size=12")
chips> add_point(.6, .5, "style=plus")
chips> hide_point("all")

Three points are created, then the hide_point command hides them both.
