CALDB RELEASE NOTES VERSION 2.22 CALDB EFFECTIVE DATE: 2003-06-03T18:00:00 SDP only release 2003-06-05T15:39:00(UTC).
This version will not be made immediately available to the public, since it is of no use except in Standard Processing. I. Summary of Changes A. Three new ACIS BADPIX files Location $CALDB/data/chandra/acis/bcf/badpix/ Filenames: acisD2000-11-29badpixN0001.fits eff. date TT=2000-11-29T00:00:00 acisD2002-01-23badpixN0001.fits eff. date TT=2002-01-23T00:00:00 acisD2002-10-05badpixN0001.fits eff. date TT=2002-10-05T00:00:00 The last file will be the one selected by current standard processing. II. Technical Details A. BADPIX FILES The new bad pixels are listed on the CAL web page http://cxc.harvard.edu/cal/Acis/Cal_prods/badpix/badpix_2003_05_13.html There is a simple 1-to-1 correspondence between the pixels in the tables and those in the files. The effective dates of the pixels are implemented by implementing multiple files in the CALDB. There is a separate bad pixel list (extension) for each ACIS chip in each file. Each extension is indexed separately, distinguished by the DETNAM or CCD_ID specifications. Only pipeline tool "acis_build_badpix" is affected by this change directly. The users output *bpix1.fits files will also be affected in future processing and reprocessing. All data taken after TT=2000-11-29T00:00:00 are affected by these additions. Each file includes all bad pixels listed in the one that precedes it, with a few more specific locations added for their effective dates.
