CALDB Public Release Notes Version 1.6 CALDB Date: 2000-10-12T14:16:00 I. CHANGES We have added the ACIS bad pixel lists for operating temperature -120C. This has been derived by the Chandra Calibrations Team, but the list has not yet been posted publicly. An ASCII list has been linked to the "CALDB files and calibration links" page under http://cxc.harvard.edu/caldb/. II. AFFECTS OF THE CHANGE The new file has fewer bad pixels than the corresponding -110C badpix file; it also has more bad columns than that file, and the filtered level 2 events files and images are much improved. ACIS OBSIDs with operating temperatures at or near -120C (taken after OBS-DATE=2000-01-29T20:00:00) will be reprocessed with this new file. Production processing proceeds with this new file after processing date DATE=2000-10-12T14:16:00. All -120C observation data processed before this date will NOT have used this new file, and users may want to wait for reprocessing of their data in that case before publishing results; however the bad pixel update might not be considered critical for many analyses. We do note significant improvement in the visual results of raw images produced from events files that exclude data from the new badpix list.
