Item 3. Chandra Science Workshops
==================================

Do you have a good idea for a Chandra Science Workshop topic?

The CXC facilitates Science Workshops on topics of interest
to Chandra observers and theorists alike. Workshop goals are to
optimize Chandra science productivity by
    * identifying science areas ripe for progress
    * identifying the most pressing scientific questions
    * debating good Chandra strategies to answer them

We are soliciting ideas for the next such workshop, to be held
no earlier than summer 2006, of 2-3 days duration. As examples,
in July 2004, we hosted a workshop entitled
       GALAXIES VIEWED WITH CHANDRA WORKSHOP
and in July 2005, we hosted
STAR FORMATION IN THE ERA OF THREE GREAT OBSERVATORIES,
both at the Sheraton Commander Hotel here in Cambridge. Nearly
100 people attend these meetings, which provide ample opportunity
for discussion and debate. Links to these workshops' pages
can be found at http://cxc.harvard.edu/cdo/past-conf.html

If you suggest a meeting topic, please feel free to
suggest some likely members of a Scientific Organizing Committee as
well. We especially encourage participation of theorists.

To avoid conflicts, please check carefully the list of recent
and upcoming International Astronomy Meetings at
    http://cadcwww.dao.nrc.ca/meetings/meetings.html

Best Regards,
Paul Green, for the Chandra Director's Office
