Item 1. SECOND ANNUAL CHANDRA CALIBRATION WORKSHOP
        ==========================================

Well last year was a hit so we figured we'd do it again!

Please join us at the second annual CHANDRA Calibration
Workshop. Members of the CHANDRA Science Center Calibration team will
be on hand to present their latest and greatest efforts to
characterize the performance of Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer
(ACIS), the High Resolution Camera (HRC), and the Low and High Energy
Transmission Gratings (LETG and HETG).

The workshop is intended to enhance the diffusion of knowledge about
the performance of the instruments, as well as to encourage the entire
community to contribute to the performance models. There will be
poster presentations, round table discussions as well as sessions of
talks that the community is invited to actively participate in.

In conjunction with the calibration workshop, the CIAO team has
organized a three day CIAO tutorial/workshop. Participants will be
able to work on either their own or sample CHANDRA data with the
presence and support of members from the CIAO team. Participation is
limited, and will be on a firt-come first-served basis.

So the details:

    When: The Calibration Workshop will be held on October 27th and
    28th, with the CIAO workshop immediately following on the 29th-31st.

    Where: The meeting will be held at the Sheraton Commander in
    Cambridge just down the street from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center
    for Astrophysics, in close proximity to MIT and downtown Boston.

    More Information: The web page (http://cxc.harvard.edu/ccw) is
    already up and waiting for your registrations/submissions. Other
    interesting details (including last years proceedings) can also be
    found there.

We look forward to seeing you in October!

Item 2. 5th Chandra/CIAO Workshop - Cambridge,USA - 29-31 October 2003
        ==============================================================

                         REMINDER

There are still some places left at the fifth in a series of
workshops aimed at helping users to work with the Chandra Interactive
Analysis of Observations (CIAO) software. The workshop will be held in
Cambridge and immediately follows the Chandra Calibration workshop.
For online registration and details about the workshop please visit:

    Four Years of Chandra Observations: A Tribute to Riccardo Giacconi

You may see the agenda, including session times and speakers, by
clicking on Agenda on the main Symposium web page

http://mi.msfc.nasa.gov/chandra/index.html

or directly by clicking on

Each day has its own page. There is also a list of poster papers. The

Item 4. Chandra Data Archive: products from the mirror at LEDAS
         =======================================================

It is now possible for Chandra users to run WebChaser from our mirror
site at LEDAS in the UK, and download data from there. This should
improve data transfer times for our European users. Note, though,
that only the Primary and Secondary data products for Public
observations can be obtained from the LEDAS site.

Follow the "WebChaSeR through the mirror site at LEDAS" link on the
CDA home page at:
